In low light conditions or the hour of darkness the photocell light sensitive switch activates the cone lamp which then lights up, switching it off when the ambient light level eventually increases.<\/p>\n<p>The single LED provides a constant low level of illumination which is highly efficient in terms of power consumption giving the light exceptional performance between battery changes.\u00a0\u00a0The unidirectional yellow lens is designed for maximum light output and incorporates a retro-reflective ring in accordance with DFT standards and reflects vehicle headlights effectively at distance.<\/p>\n<p>The traffic cone lamp uses a single standard 4R25 battery (not supplied) which typically provides 1000 + hours of operational running time (subject to battery quality).<\/p>\n<p>With an uncomplicated design, operators can quickly replace batteries with a minimum of delay, the battery connecting points accept the battery whichever way it is presented (as long as the springs go in first!).\u00a0 Traffic management operators will find the familiar battery housing flap easy to operate whilst wearing gloves with a fold over and through design that is resistant to icing, dirt and potential jams which can impact other designs of battery closure.\u00a0 This design is also good at retaining the battery in the event\u00a0 of a road related impact.<\/p>\n<p>We have listened to operators who say that the part most liable to suffer from wear is the battery housing, we have therefore made it detachable so if it does wear out it can be replaced prolonging the life of the unit. With solid red and solid green light output (no flashing green LEDs or flashing red LED&#8217;s just a solid light output)\u00a0 operated\u00a0 by the pressure activated switch, a vehicle marshal can instantly switch from a red to green light output simply by applying or releasing pressure.<\/p>\n<p>Training is simplified with simple stop go light signals, the traffic wand does not have to cycle through unnecessary button presses it&#8217;s red or green until the traffic management operator decides to turn the banksman wand off.<\/p>\n<p>A very useful nose cone torch feature is also provided that allows operatives to carry out basic inspection tasks.
