LED Red / Green Traffic Baton - KB22 |

This is a large traffic baton that uses 2 x D Cell batteries and has 3 operating modes. Having a red flash as well as a solid red and solid green light output provides additional signalling capability as well as reduces the load on the batteries which provides them with prolonged life between charges or replacement. It’s size is useful in that it can be seen readily by vehicles that may be reversing into goods loading bays, the extra length protruding into the line of sight of drivers - for example a traffic controller guiding a vehicle via mirrors into a bay. It is also less easy to misplace as it prevents personnel leaving them in draws, coat pockets etc... The baton has a clear polycarbonate sleeve with internal red and green LED’s which are operated via a single button which also doubles as the on/off switch. The baton is weather resistant and will operate in severe and adverse weather conditions being gasket sealed to resist water ingress. For a more compact traffic baton with different operating modes look at the KB30, this uses solid red and green LED’s rather than having a flash feature, it also has a useful LED torch and can be used in our KB33 tripod as a stand alone hazard warning light.

The image above depicts traffic control marshals / stewards at a football ground as they guide motorists from the football ground car park onto a dark country highway. The marshals’ to the left and right are spotting for gaps in the flow of traffic relaying this back to the central marshal who switches the traffic baton from red to green thus bringing vehicles out of the car park and onto the road. For added impact two traffic wands are used in the cross position as shown above for stop indication. The extra length of this baton makes such a formation clearer over a longer distance. Traffic wands like these are in use at many football grounds being used by football stewards and traffic marshal’s to great effect when dealing with sudden large volumes of traffic or people at the end of a match or concert or event.
